Saturday afternoon's contest will be the first head-to-head meeting between Howard and Siena.
This season, coach Ali Jaques and the Saints rank third in their league in scoring (69.7) and steals (9.3). Senior Kollyns Scarbrough leads the MAAC in scoring (19.8 PPG), including a 30-point performance against Harvard. Junior Deja Rawls is third in the MAAC with 4.8 assists per game (APG). Siena was selected to finish eighth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll.
After Tuesday's loss at No. 15 Maryland, Coach
Ty Grace and the Bison look to rebound and pickup their first win of the season. HU has struggled on the offensive end; however, the squad has stayed aggressive in getting to the foul line. As of Nov. 23, Howard ranks 31
st in the nation in total free throw attempts (108). Freshman
Curstyn Moore leads the squad in scoring, netting 11.5 PPG. Fellow classmate
Tariah Johnson is second on team, averaging 8.0 PPG.
LAST TIMEOUT
Tuesday (Nov. 21), HU stumbled on the road at No. 15 Maryland, 111-49, inside the XFINITY Center.
Howard was unable to find a rhythm, shooting only 29-percent (16-of-55) from the floor. Sophomore guard
Asia McCants led the way with a team-high 10 points in a losing effort.
Off the bench, sophomore forward
Imani Bryant chipped in eight points and a team-high five boards in the loss.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
HU begins a three-game home stretch, beginning Tuesday, Nov. 28 against Fairleigh Dickinson. Game-time is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Burr Gymnasium.
