MATCHUP PREVIEW
HU leads the all-time series, 9-7, but the teams have not met since 1986. In the last game, Georgetown won, 53-50, at the GW/Washington Times Invitational. The teams met consecutively from 1974-86.
Georgetown is coming off of a season where the squad had its second-consecutive WNIT berth. He was promoted after serving as the associate head coach for two seasons. Howard returned to the Hilltop after being an assistant coach for the Blue & Gray during the 1997-98 season. Unanimous BIG EAST Conference Preseason selection junior Dionna White leads the Hoyas.
Saturday, Howard dropped its season opener versus the William & Mary Tribe, 83-71, at Burr Gymnasium. Overall, the Bison shot 50-percent (27-of-54) from the floor; however, were unable to recover from 31 turnovers, including 20 in the first half. In her collegiate debut, freshman
Curstyn Moore guided the Bison attack with a team-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Sophomore
Sarah Edmond flirted with a double-double, posting 16 points and eight boards in 40 minutes of action.
