Box Score ÂÂMOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. --- The Howard University women's lacrosse team fell to the Central Michigan in an Atlantic Sun Conference matchup, 11-5, at the Central Michigan Lacrosse-Soccer Stadium on Friday, April 29.
The Lady Bison (0-12, 0-7) remained scoreless up with 17 seconds left in the first half until sophomore Assata Khalfani connected with the back of the net off a free position shot, putting Howard on the board, 7-1. Khalfani's goal was the first in her career.
Redshirt-senior Darieal Wimbley opened up the second half netting her first goal of the evening with 26:35 left in the game as the Lady Bison pulled within five, but the Chippewas 3-0 scoring run gave them a comfortable 10-2 lead with 16:33 to go. Wimbley would finish with two goals in the outing, while senior Taylor Gainey and junior Taylor Spencer tallied one goal apiece.
The Chippewas (6-9, 2-5) netted seven of their 11 total goals in the first half. Freshman midfielder Jocelyn Lemay led in scoring with four unassisted goals.Â
