Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard University softball team was setback, 10-1, by Delaware State on Sunday, April 24 at the Nationals Youth Academy in its series finale. With the loss, Howard is 7-32 on the season and 3-12 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

Janessa Flynn took home the loss after she tossed 6.0 innings for nine hits, 10 runs and a strikeout. DSU's Nicole Brock earned her 10
th win of the season in 6.0 innings of work, which included five hits, one run and three strikeouts.
In the bottom of the first,
Al'Asia Davis doubled to center field and
Jasmine Gammons reached on an error by the second baseman to put runners on the corners but the Lady Bison couldn't bring them in.
The Hornets got on the board first with a 2-0 edge in the second off a two-run homer by Jordan Stamps. DSU added four runs in the third on a pair of singles, a double and throwing error. A three-run homer in the sixth by Sandy Hawthorne put the Hornets up 10-0.
The Lady Bison tallied their sole run of the game in the home half of the sixth.
Tiyanna Stewart tripled to center field and Davis drove her in with an RBI single.
Davis was 2-for-3 on the day and was the only Howard player with more than one hit.
Howard will wrap up the 2016 regular season with a three-game MEAC series when it visits UMES on Saturday, April 30.
