WASHINGTON, DC-- In their second tournament of the season, the struggles have continued for the Lady Bison as they went winless in this outing as well. The Lady Bison were held scoreless for their first two games against George Mason and Army amassing only nine hits between the two games. Senior Al'Asia Davis went 2-for-5 between the games, with both hits coming in the second game against Army. Senior Janessa Flynn earned her second loss of the season pitching 4 innings, giving up seven hits, one earned run, and 4 walks while Junior Alex Flynn earned her third loss of the season against Army.
In the next two games against Marist, the Lady Bison were outscored 19-3. In the first matchup, senior Jasmine Gammons went 2-3 with two singles and scored the only run off of an error by the Marist pitcher. The Marist Red Fox scored eleven runs off of 14 hits while holding the Lady Bison to just five hits. The second matchup yielded similar results with the Lady Bison scoring 2 runs and having 5 hits. Sophomore Brooklyn Emory went 2-for-2 with one run batted in and one walk.
Pitcher Alex Flynn earned four runs, with the other four for Marist coming from errors committed by the Lady Bison.
The last game against George Mason proved to be a sloppy one for the Lady Bison as the errors continued. Mason scored nine in the first inning concurrent with the Lady Bison committing five of their six errors in the inning. Junior Imani Ballard went 2-for-2 with two triples and driving in the only run for the Bison.
Wednesday, the Lady Bison snagged their first win in a 6-4 matchup against the Retrivers of UMBC.
