Bison Drop Fourth Straight

Box Score

Indianapolis, IN---Howard got a season-high 25 points from James "JT" Miller and 19 and 18 from Solomon "Solo" Mangham and Damon Collins respectively but, it was not enough to avert yet another defeat as the Bison fell 94-78 to Gardner Webb in the Subregional of the 2K Classic for Wounded Warriors project at IUPUI.

For the second straight game, Howard (0-4) played catchup from the start and trailed by double digits at the half. And again, it was a cold shooting performance and the inability to score consistently that proved to be their undoing. The Bison missed 20 of 30 shots taken for 33 percent in the first 20 minutes.

Howard improved its shooting in the second stanza, connecting on 52 percent with Miller, Mangham and Collins taking turns scoring. But hot shooting Gardner Webb blistered the baskets with 62 percent shooting and were led by David Efianayi, who exploded for 19 second half points while LaQuincy Rideau contributed 11 of his 19 to keep the hard-charging Bison at bay.

Howard, which has been shooting poorly from the free throw line, improved its percentage for the second straight, this time connecting on 81 percent (29 of 36) from the charity stripe. Charles "CJ" Williams, a freshman guard from Richmond, VA, started for the first time and finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds.

Miller was named to the all-tournament team.

NEXT UP: The Bison have a few days off before taking on the Hoyas of Georgetown on Sunday, November 27 at the Verizon Center.
