NORFOLK, VA --- Junior outside hitter
Katherine Broussard has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced today. The award spans matches played from October 12-18.
The 5-7 native of Harvey, LA helped Howard (10-13, 6-1 MEAC) go 2-0 during the week and remain in first place in the MEAC Northern Division. Broussard totaled 28 digs, 26 kills, five blocks and hit .333 in victories against Bethune-Cookman (3-2) and Coppin State (3-0). She hit .325 and recorded her fourth double-double (22 digs, 18 kills) in the North-South matchup with the Wildcats.
The Player of the Week award is the second of Broussard's career - she also earned the honor as a freshman on September 9, 2013 - and her seventh MEAC weekly honor, which includes her five Rookie of the Week selections in 2013.
