Shavonne Duckett posted team-highs of 13 points and seven rebounds in a losing effort as the Howard Lady Bison lost a 48-69 decision to the North Carolina A&T Aggies on Monday evening in Burr Gymnasium. The loss snapped the Lady Bison's two game winning streak.
Duckett played an efficient game as she shot 50 percent from the field (4-of-8; 1-of-2 from three-point range), 80 percent from the free throw line and added a pair of assists in 36 minutes.

Howard (9-12, 5-3 MEAC) ran into trouble against the pressure of NC A&T (16-4, 6-2 MEAC) early in the first half, as they commited 21 of their season-high 31 turnovers in the opening 20 minutes. Free throws also played a major factor in the game - the Aggies hit twice as many free throws as the Lady Bison and converted more shots from the line (18-of-31) than HU was able to attempt (9-of-15) .
HU will begin a three-game road stretch on Saturday, February 8 with a showdown against first-place conference foe Hampton University. The opening matchup of the doubleheader is scheduled for a 4 pm tipoff.
