Four Lady Bison Score In Loss To Binghamton

VESTAL, NY --- Senior midfielder Courtland Lackey continued her strong start to the 2014 season by leading the Howard women's lacrosse team in a 20-6 loss to Binghamton University on Saturday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

Lackey scored a pair of goals for Howard (0-3), making her the only Lady Bison player to tally a score in each game this season. Lackey's fifth and sixth scores were the last goals of both halves (9:49, 4:57) for Howard; she also added three ground balls and four draw controls in the game. Junior midfielder Michaela Jupiter also scored twice in the game, splitting her first goals of the year by halves (15:07, 27:47). Sophomore midfielder Victoria Lockhart (15:04, 2nd) and senior attack Cynithia Smalls (25:54, 1st) each added a score - Lockhart's first and Smalls' fourth of the season.

Freshman goalie Jasmine Wilson played the entire game between the pipes and made a season-high 12 saves in the loss to Binghamton (1-0) in the Bearcats' season opener.

HU will have a week off before its next game, a March 1st matchup with Robert Morris at 12 noon.
