WASHINGTON, DC --- For the second consecutive week, freshman outside hitter
Katherine Broussard has been honored by the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) for her stellar play. Broussard was named MEAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for games ending September 15, the conference announced today. The honor follows
last week's Player of the Week award for Broussard.
The 5-7 newcomer from Harvey, La. helped lead the Lady Bison to a 4-0 record last week, including a 3-0 showing at the UMBC/Maddie Bingaman Tournament. She recorded two kill-dig double-doubles in Howard's last two games against Saint Francis (PA) and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and logged 43 kills and 39 digs overall.
The Lady Bison hit the road this weekend for four games in New York and Rhode Island. Howard will face Manhattan College on Thursday, September 19 at 5:00 PM before playing three games in the Providence College Friar Classic from September 20-21 - fellow MEAC member Morgan State Friday at 5:00 PM; St. Francis Brooklyn Saturday at 11:00 AM; and host Providence Saturday at 3:00 PM.
