Howard University quarterback
Greg McGhee was the top vote getter in the Heritage Sports Radio Network's (HSRN) Fan Poll for Week two of the 2013 football season. Derrick Billups (Alabama State), Martine Stevenson (Tennessee State) and A.J. Gifford (St. Augusine's) also named.
McGhee, a 6-3, 208 lb native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed for 242 yards (21-of-27) and gained 296 yards in total offense in Howard's 27-16 win over Morehouse in the DC Classic on September 7, 2013. McGhee out-pointed quarterback Quinshon Odom of Shaw University, 8,451 votes (52%) to 7,815 votes (48%) as the fan poll top Offensive player.
In the future, the HSRN Fan Poll will be divided between Division I (FCS) and Division II Players to allow for maximum exposure for student-athletes at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
