RIVERDALE, N.Y. (September 6, 2026) – Howard University men's soccer team scored its first two goals of the season, but it was not enough as the Manhattan Jaspers topped HU, 4-2, in Riverdale, N.Y.
Manhattan (2-2) produced a pair of goals in the first seven minutes, taking a commanding 2-0 advantage.
Howard got the board at the 21-minute mark, thanks to the Jaspers' miscue, 2-1.
After intermission, Cristiano Marsilii tallied his second score of the contest and gave Manhattan a 3-1 cushion at the 41-minute mark.
Moments later, All-NEC selection junior forward
Daniil Kaban (Kharkiv, Ukraine) pulled HU within one, 3-2, thanks to a penalty kick.
Manhattan kept the pressure on, scoring another goal to put the game out of reach, 4-2.
Five different Bison recorded a shot in the loss, led by Kaban with two attempts (one on goal).
Senior goalies
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) and
Joshua Snyder (Princeton, N.J.) combined for five saves in a losing effort.
Marsilii led the Jaspers with two goals and an assist in the victory.
Howard is back in action Saturday (Sept. 12) where they battle Radford. The game is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m., at the Greene Stadium.
