EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 4, 2026) – Howard University women's cross country squad begin the 2026 season with a victory in the annual Mount 5K Duals, hosted by Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md.
Overall, four Bison placed in the top 10.
Juniors
Mira Martin (Columbus, Ohio) and
Ester Kirk (Morristown, N.J.) took silver (19:05.53) and bronze (19:13.28), respectively, while fellow classmate
Chloe Poindexter (State College, Pa.) claimed fifth overall (19:26.47).
Second-year Bison
Alexis Jones (New Windsor, N.Y.) grabbed seventh place with a 19:33.65 mark.
Junior
Kylee King (Detroit) finished just outside of the top 10, earning 11
th overall (19:50.33), while senior
Sarah Seam (Gaithersburg, Md.) and third-year Bison
Kendall Robinson (Bowie, Md.) placed in the top half, taking 17
th (20:47.66) and 19
th (21:02.64), respectively.
Towson's Anna Amato led the Tigers to a second-place finish, winning the individual crown with a 18:54.49 time.
On Sept. 11, HU goes to Charlottesville, Va., for the Virginia Invitational, hosted by the Cavaliers. Meet time is 8:45 a.m.
