EMMITSBURG, Md. (September 4, 2026) – Howard University men's cross country team opened its 2026 campaign in style, winning the annual Mount 5K Duals, hosted by Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, Md.
Collectively, six Bison placed in the top 15.
Second-year Bison
Noah Douglas (Boston) led the way, winning the race in 15:58.86.
Rookie
Shareef Elfadil (Woodbridge, Va.) took third overall, clocking in at 16:08.16.
DMV natives juniors
Paul Robinson (Bowie, Md.) and
Sayid Shakur (Fort Washington, Md.) finished back-to-back, earning sixth (16:13.67) and seventh (16:15.54), respectively, while fellow classmate
William Shepherd (Plano, Texas) grabbed ninth (16:21.12).
Sophomore
Ashton Thomas (Greensboro, N.C.) rounded out the squad, taking 14
th place with a 16:47.17 mark.
UMBC finished runner-up, followed by the Mount.
On Sept. 11, HU goes to Charlottesville, Va., for the Virginia Invitational, hosted by the Cavaliers. Meet time is 8:45 a.m.
