HOWARD
HU is looking for its first win of the season (0-1-2).
Monday (Aug. 24), the NEC unveiled its weekly honors where senior goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) claimed the league's Co-Defensive Player of the Week. In the matchups against George Washington (Aug. 19) and Hampton (Aug. 22), Fort Knox produced 17 saves with a .944 save percentage.
Entering the season, HU was projected to finish fourth in the NEC.
Sophomore forward
Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.) returns to The Mecca as the squad's top scorer with nine points (four goals & one assist).
Bison head coach
Brent Leiba is in his 18
th season and has brought the program to national prominence during his tenure. He is the winningest coach in school history, nearing 150 victories and a future Hall of Famer.
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
FIU is also seeking its first win on the season (0-2-3).
A year ago, the squad went 7-6-4 overall, including 4-3-1 in league play.
Coming into this season, FIU welcomed back to Panthers, including CUSA All-Conference Third Team honoree sophomore Roxy Brewer.
The Panthers were selected to finish fifth in Conference USA's 2026 Preseason Poll after finishing fifth last season.
Mat Dunn leads the Panthers in his second season at the helm.
LAST TIMEOUT
Thursday (Aug. 27), HU suffered its first loss of the season, falling on the road at Florida Atlantic, 7-0, in Boca Raton, Fla.
Four Bison registered a shot in the contest while Knox produced 10 saves in a losing cause.

Howard continues its road swing Sunday (Sept. 6) at La Salle. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m., in Philly.
