WASHINGTON (October 11, 2026) – Howard University women's soccer fell to Le Moyne College, 3-2, Sunday afternoon at Greene Stadium after surrendering a two-goal halftime lead.
The Bison (2-6-3, 2-2-1 NEC) scored twice in the first half but could not hold off the Dolphins (4-10-1, 3-2-1 NEC), who netted three goals after the break to complete the comeback.
Howard wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. At the 7:49 mark, junior midfielder/forward
Imani Kissi (Dublin, Ohio) found the back of the net to give the Bison a 1-0 advantage. The goal marked Kissi's second of the season and her second consecutive game with a goal.
The Bison kept the pressure on throughout the first half, creating several scoring opportunities.
Junior midfielder
Maya Blackston (Alexandria, Va.) and junior forward/midfielder
Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.) tested the Le Moyne goalkeeper early while senior midfielder
Asia Mickens-Perez (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and junior midfielder
Nadia Bolden (Charlotte, N.C.) also recorded shots on target.
HU doubled its lead late in the half when junior forward
Ameila Horton (New Albany, Ohio) scored at 39:21. The goal was Horton's first as a Bison, giving Howard a 2-0 advantage heading into the break. The Bison outshot Le Moyne, 9-3, in the opening 45 minutes.
Le Moyne responded after halftime, cutting the deficit to one at 56:00. The Dolphins continued to press and Howard goalkeeper
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) made a save at 61:56 to keep the Bison in front.
Horton looked to extend Howard's advantage with attempts at 57:38 and 64:00, but neither resulted in another goal.
Le Moyne, eventually, leveled the match at 72:37 with the equalizer coming off the visitors' continued second-half pressure. The Dolphins, then, completed the comeback at 78:22, scoring off a corner kick to take a 3-2 lead.
Howard continued to look for an equalizer in the closing minutes but could not find the back of the net before the final whistle.
The Bison finished with 11 shots, including eight on goal, while Knox played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves.
Howard returns to action Sunday, Oct. 18, traveling to face fellow NEC opponent LIU at 1 p.m.
