BOCA RATON, Fla. (August 27, 2026) — Howard University women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling on the road at FAU (Florida Atlantic), 7-0, in Boca Raton, Fla.
Within the opening five minutes, FAU's Hailey Santiago scored back-to-back goals to put the Owls ahead early, 2-0.
Before intermission, Sephora Joachim added another score on a penalty kick, 3-0.
After halftime, Santiago recorded a hat trick at the 61-minute mark, 4-0.
Florida Atlantic closed out the half with three more scores, 7-0.
Four Bison registered a shot in the contest:
Maya Blackston (Alexandria, Va.);
Dominique Desert (Park Ridge, N.J.);
Morgan Kennedy (Marina Del Ray, Calif.) and
Alauna Rutland (Fairfax, Va.).
Senior goalie
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) battled, producing 10 saves in a losing cause.
