BLACKSBURG, Va. (August 23, 2026) – Howard University men's soccer team fell on the road at Power 4 opponent Virginia Tech (VT), 7-0.
VT got the upper hand early with a goal from Jaden Chan Tack at the 6-minute mark, 1-0.
Nearly 18 minutes later, Yanis Belatrache gave the Hokies a 2-0 advantage going into half, thanks to an assist from Alex Perez.
Virginia Tech kept the pressure on after intermission, tallying five more scores in the final 45 minutes, 7-0.
VT outshot the Bison, 33-2, including 12 on goal. All-NEC selection junior
Daniil Kaban (Kharkiv, Ukraine) and newcomer
Xavier Sharp (Aurora, Colo.) each recorded a shot.
Senior goalie
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) registered five saves in the loss.
Overall, 17 Bison saw action with four playing all 90 minutes: Keiller; junior
Bryson Clarke (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.); sophomore
Khari Sharrieff (Southampton, Bermuda) and rookie
Lucas Campbell (Washington).
