Saturday's clash will be the sixth meeting between Howard and Hampton with the Bison leading the all-time series, 4-0-1.
HOWARD
Entering the season, HU (0-0-1) was projected to finish fourth in the NEC.
Sophomore forward
Demi Owens (Teaneck, N.J.) returns to The Mecca as the squad's top scorer with nine points (four goals & one assist).
Bison head coach
Brent Leiba is entering his 18
th season and has brought the program to national prominence during his tenure. He is the winningest coach in school history, nearing 150 victories and a future Hall of Famer.
HAMPTON
Hampton (0-2) is searching for its first win of the season after returning 14 Pirates from a year ago under first-year head coach Sam Cain.
Last season, Nylah Jennings, who was named to the Preseason Honorable Mention All-CAA team, was the leading scorer with 12 total points (five goals and two assists).
On Aug. 12, Hampton played its first match in program history against a Power 4 school, falling to Indiana, 2-1, in Bloomington, Ind.
LAST TIMEOUT
Wednesday (Aug. 19), HU opened the 2026 season with a 0-0 draw against George Washington (GW) at Greene Stadium.
Senior goalkeeper
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) played a key role in keeping GW off the scoreboard, recording a nine-save shutout.

Thursday (Aug. 27), Howard goes to Boca Raton, Fla., to face Florida Atlantic. Match time is slated for 5 p.m.
