CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (May 12, 2026) – Howard University senior
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) continues to lead the women's golf team at the NCAA Regional Round in Chapel Hill, N.C. The tourney takes place at the UNC Finley Golf Club (par-70, 6,177 yards), hosted by the Tar Heels.
Franklin, the reigning NEC Golfer of the Year, shot 2-over par (72) in round two with three birdies. The Los Angeles native moved up eight slots after Day Two, firing 7-over par (147) while tying for 36
th overall.
All-NEC First Team selections junior
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) and sophomore
Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.) are tied for 55
th on the player leaderboard, recording 13-over par (153) with one round remaining.
Newly crowned NEC Rookie of the Year freshman
Mia Melendez (Ann Arbor, Mich.) posted an 81 (+11) on Day Two, sitting 62
nd overall (157, +17) with 18 holes left.
Collectively, the Bison shot 22-over par (302) in round two. After two days of action, HU is 50-over par (610).
No. 5 Texas holds the top spot after 36 holes (550, -10), firing 9-under par (271) in round two. No. 12 UNC sits four strokes behind the Longhorns (554, -6), followed by No. 20 Oklahoma State (565, +5). No. 44 North Carolina State and No. 17 Mississippi State rounded out the top 5, landing fourth (567, +7) and fifth (569, +9), respectively.
Individually, No. 14 Cindy Hsu (Texas) tops the player leaderboard after back-to-back 4-under par (66) performances. Farah O'Keefe trails her teammate by three strokes (135, -5) with one round to go.
NCAA Regional Round concludes Wednesday (May 13) with a shotgun start time at 8 a.m.
