LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 16, 2026) – The Jackson T. Stephens Cup (JTS Cup) revealed its 12-golfer individual field where Howard University saw four Bison selected. The announcement came Monday (Aug. 10). The three-day (Sept. 14-16) tournament takes place at Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco in Frisco, Texas.
The six women and six men represent Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and U.S. military service academies.
"These HBCU and U.S. military service academy student-athletes are among the very best in collegiate golf and we are proud to provide a stage where they can compete alongside the nation's top NCAA Division I players," said
Miles Stephens, co-tournament chairman. "Their participation strengthens an already exceptional field and reflects the Jackson T. Stephens Cup's enduring commitment to recognizing outstanding talent from HBCUs and U.S. military service academies."
Seniors
Bear Huff (Riverside, Calif.) and
Francisco Perez (Los Mochis, Calif.), junior
Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and newcomer
Alexis Goboy will represent Bison Nation in the Lone Star State. A year ago, Durette, Huff and Perez led their respective squads to a NEC Championship.
Since its inception, standout student-athletes from HBCUs and U.S. military service academies have been integral to the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, competing alongside the nation's top NCAA Division I programs to create one of the most distinctive fields in collegiate golf. The JTS Cup also gives these players the opportunity to showcase their talents to a national audience with televised daily coverage on GOLF Channel.
