BALTIMORE (April 8, 2026) – Howard University men's tennis team notched its first win of the season, blanking rival Coppin State (CSU), 7-0, in Baltimore.
All-MEAC selection
Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) and sophomore
Kamran McIntosh-Ross (Atlanta) competed in the No. 1 doubles slot, blanking CSU's Ulugbek Abdurakhmonov and Aidan Thomas-Cogar, 6-0.
Third-year Bison
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and rookie
Marcus Weekes (London, United Kingdom) represented Bison Nation in the No. 2 doubles position, knocking off Coppin State's Flavius Henderson II and Dentry Mortimer, 6-3.
In singles competition, HU won all six matches.
Weekes rallied to defeat the Eagles' Andre Dogbefu in three sets (4-6, 6-2, 6-4).
Lash, Major, McIntosh and newcomers
Nathan Bermeo (Durham, N.C.) and
Alexander Monagan (Natchez, Miss.) came away victories in straight sets.
On April 10, HU travels to Richmond, Va., for a matchup against the Richmond Spiders. First-serve at 11:30 a.m.
