PHILADELPHIA (April 6, 2026) - Howard University men's tennis fell on the road at Temple, 5-2, but showed fight in the nonconference clash.
In singles play,
Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) represented Bison Nation in the No. 2 singles slot, securing a straight-set win (6-1, 6-3).
In the No. 5 singles position,
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) won in style with a straight-set victory (6-2, 6-4).
Kamran McIntosh-Ross (Atlanta) served in the No. 1 singles slot where he lost in three sets (6-2, 4-6, 2-6).
Marcus Weekes (London, United Kingdom) dropped a three-set contest (6-3, 4-6, 6-7) in the No. 3 singles slot.
Temple (6-9) showed strong skills during doubles competition, taking the first two contests by identical scores (6-3).
Nathan Bermeo (Durham, N.C.) and
Shawn Mitchell Yon (Queens, N.Y.) held a 6-5 advantage in the third doubles match but ruled unfinished.
Wednesday (April 8), HU (0-10) continues the midweek campaign with MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) action at Coppin State in Baltimore. Match time is 4 p.m.
