BALTIMORE (April 11, 2026) – Howard University softball team won a pair of MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) games against Morgan State (MSU) Saturday afternoon in Baltimore. HU took game one in six innings, 10-2, followed by a 5-2 victory in the nightcap.
With the wins, HU extended the win streak to 12 games while earning its 13
th straight conference series victory, dating back to April 2024. Additionally, the Bison secured their fifth consecutive 20-win season.
GAME 1 – Howard 10, Morgan State 2 (f/6)
In the series opener, HU mustered 10 runs on 11 hits with three Bison recording multi-hit performances.
Howard grabbed the upper hand in its first at-bat, thanks to an RBI-single from reigning MEAC Player of the Year graduate
Taylor Ames-Alexander (Lancaster, S.C.), 1-0.
Senior
Maryn Jordan (San Diego) and junior
Wisdom Colbert (Jacksonville, Fla.) extended the lead with each driving in a run, 3-0.
Top three, Jordan provided more cushion with a three-run double to center, 7-0.
Next inning, junior
Merci Hart (Los Angeles) delivered a sac fly to right field, pushing the margin to eight runs, 8-0.
Bottom five, MSU got on the board with a sac bunt, 8-1, but the Bison responded with a two-run triple from junior
Tori Trotter (Lacey, Wash.) and extended the lead to nine runs, 10-1.
Morgan State added another run in its final at-bat, 10-2.
Jordan led the Bison attack, going 2-of-4 with four RBIs.
In the circle, sophomore
Aiko Conaway (Haymarket, Va.) got the starting nod where she went 4.0 innings with a pair of Ks in the win.
GAME 2 – Howard 5, Morgan State 2
In the nightcap, HU registered five runs on 10 hits. Jordan delivered another solid performance, going 3-of-4 with an RBI and run scored.
After scoreless opening inning, MSU scored first in the second frame, 1-0.
Top three, freshman
Amirah Lenon (Chandler, Ariz.) tied the contest, 1-1, with an RBI-single.
Next inning, Colbert drove in freshman
Ariyah Allen (Converse, Texas) and put the Bison ahead after four, 2-1.
HU created separation in the fifth, scoring three times while taking a commanding 5-1 lead.
Morgan State scored again in the seventh, but senior pitcher
Julia Holt (Tucson, Ariz.) closed the door on MSU's comeback bid, 5-2.
Conaway earned the victory in relief, tossing 3.0 innings. Senior
Destiny Calloway (Evington, Va.) started for the Bison, recording 2.0 innings in the no decision.
