NORFOLK, Va. (March 28, 2026) – Howard University men's tennis team dropped its MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Round Up opener to reigning champions South Carolina State (SCSU), 7-0, at Folkes Stevens Tennis Center, home of Old Dominion.
SCSU (6-6, 1-0 MEAC) took an early 1-0 match lead after winning all three doubles matches.
Junior
Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) and sophomore
Kamran McIntosh-Ross (Atlanta) represented Bison Nation as the top doubles team where they came up short to the Bulldogs' Mikalai Bankou and Novak Novakovic, 7-5.
In singles competition, Major and McIntosh-Ross competed in the No. 1 and No. 2 singles slot, respectively, where they both fell short in straight sets to SCSU's Bankou (6-2, 6-0) and Iliyas Muratuly (7-6, 6-1).
Sunday (March 29), HU (0-8, 0-1 MEAC) closes out the weekend against Norfolk State. Match time is slated for 8 a.m.
