WASHINGTON (March 27, 2026) – Howard University men's tennis fell to Kennesaw State, 4-0, Friday afternoon at the Southeast Tennis and Learning Center.
Howard (0-7) was unable to reach doubles play with the Owls (13-4) clinching the contest during singles competition.
In singles, Kennesaw State secured victories at the No. 3 through No. 6 position, locking up the match.
Junior
Shawn Mitchell Yon (Queens, N.Y.) competed at No. 3 while fellow classmate
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) played at No. 4.
Rookies
Nathan Bermeo (Durham, N.C.) and
Alexander Monagan (Natchez, Miss.) rounded out the lineup at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, respectively.
Despite the final score, Howard showed strong competitiveness at the top of the lineup.
Junior standout
Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) at No. 1 singles and sophomore
Kamran McIntosh-Ross (Atlanta) at No. 2 both led after game one before their matches were left unfinished.
Next, Howard will head to Norfolk, Va., where they will compete in the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) roundup with matchups against South Carolina State (March 28) and Norfolk State (March 29), both set for 8 a.m.
