TAKOMA PARK, Md. (March 25, 2026) – Howard University women's tennis team fell to Longwood (LU), 4-2, at the Takoma Park Tennis Courts in Takoma Park, Md.
HU took the early match lead after winning a pair of doubles contests.
Third-year Bison
Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) and freshman
Franchesca Brown (Atlanta) won their doubles match in the No. 2 slot, topping LU's Alexandra Magia and Feline van Eikelenburg, 6-3.
Junior
Dana Hall (Miami) and rookie
Chloe Goins (Burr Ridge, Ill.) secured the point with 6-0 shutout doubles victory over Longwood's Genevieve Dickey and Elizaveta Gnilozubova.
Despite taking the early lead, HU was unable to maintain the momentum.
Junior
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) served as the club's top singles player where she fell in three sets to LU's Bali Song (0-6, 6-4, 2-6).
Longwood won two other singles matches in straight sets and another by default.
Oliver was the lone Bison to secure a singles win, knocking off Lancers' Nicole Di Bisceglia in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).
On March 28-30, HU gears up for the annual MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Round Up. Howard is set to play North Carolina Central (March 28), Norfolk State (March 29) and South Carolina State (March 30) in Norfolk, Va., hosted by the Spartans and Old Dominion.
