WASHINGTON (March 19, 2026) — Howard University freshman standout
Franchesca Brown (Atlanta) secured a singles win Thursday morning, but the women's tennis team dropped its road match at George Washington (GW), 6-1.
Brown took down the Revolutionaries' Victoria Sasinka in three sets (6-1, 4-6, 10-7).
Fellow classmate
Chloe Goins (Burr Ridge, Ill.) represented Bison Nation in the No. 5 singles slot where she dropped a tough three-set contest to George Washington's Karen Verduzco (7-6, 4-6, 3-10).
GW (6-7) won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
George Washington swept all three doubles matches; thus, taking a 1-0 match advantage into singles competition.
On March 25, Howard hosts Longwood at Takoma Park Tennis Courts in Takohma Park, Md. First-serve at 4 p.m.
