BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (February 4, 2026) – The NEC revealed its men's and women's swimming & diving weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison receive recognition. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
Second-year Bison
Zion Wilson (San Antonio) earned NEC Men's Diver of the Week while newcomer
Ayrton Moncur (Nassau, Bahamas) grabbed Men's Rookie of the Week.
Wilson posted a runner-up finish against Catholic (Jan. 31), scoring 247.0 point in the 1-meter dive.
Moncur registered three podium finishes in the 100 fly, 100 breast and 100 IM. His time in the 100IM (54.37) ranks fifth in the league.
Senior standout
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) joined Moncur and Wilson on the NEC Prime Performers list.
Wagner's Ben McLaughlin and Mia Goodale won NEC Men's and Women's Swimmers of the Week while LIU's Janne Niederste took home Women's Rookie of the Week.
Next, the Bison head to Geneva, Ohio where they compete in this year's NEC Championship (February 17-20).
