Men’s Hoops Extends Win Streak with Victory Over NCCU

Five Bison score in double figures

WASHINGTON (February 21, 2026) – Sophomore forward Travelle Bryson (Anderson, S.C.) came off the bench to pour in a season-high 22 points to lead five Bison in double figures and help the Howard University men's basketball team cruise to a 100-67 win over North Carolina Central (NCCU) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown at Burr Gymnasium.

The victory runs the Bison's win streak to three straight.

Bryson, a transfer from Vincennes College, came off the bench to have his best day in a Bison uniform, connecting on 10-of-11 from the field while grabbing eight boards and adding a block and an assist for good measure.

The game was never a contest as Howard bolted out to a huge early lead and opened a 42-26 advantage at the half and the usual cast of characters got into the act.

Junior guard Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta), who is playing as well as anyone in the conference during the Bison's current streak, tallied 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting and again filled the stat sheet with six rebounds, six assists and a season-high four blocks.

Graduate guard Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.), a leading MEAC Player of the Year candidate, recorded 17 points on 6-of-12 from the field, grabbed five rebounds, dished out six assists and had a block and two steals for the night.

Senior guard Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada) made his presence with 11 points on 3-of-4 shooting.

And there was junior sharpshooting guard Alex Cotton (Carrollton, Texas), who scored 12 points and 4-of-6 from his specialty area, the three-point line.

And last, but certainly not least, junior guard Cam Gillus (Falls Church, Va.) had another one of his efficient games running the Bison offense with five points, four rebounds and six assists with no turnovers.

The 100 points was the second-most that Howard has scored this (115 versus St. Mary's – Nov. 26, 2025).

There are many superlatives to go note:
  • It is the first time in his tenure that head coach Kenneth Blakeney had three Bison record six assists in one game.
  • Howard dominated almost every facet of the Eagles, defensively, getting 24 points off NCCU turnovers while forcing them into 1-of-9 from three-point range.
  • Offensively, Howard shot a sizzling 61-percent, including 50-percent (11-of-22) from beyond the arc.
  • Outscoring the Eagles depleted bench (due to injuries), 18-2.
  • The Bison have outscored their opponents by an average of 90-59 during the win streak.

NCCU (10-15, 6-5 MEAC) got 23 points from Kyric Davis to lead all scorers, 20 points from Kelechi Okworogwo and Gage Lattimore added 10 points and five assists.

NEXT UP: Howard has a big showdown with Morgan State in Baltimore Saturday (Feb. 28) at 4:30 p.m.
