DOVER, Del. (February 16, 2026) - The dynamic duo of guards
Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) and
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) each scored 17 points to lead five Bison in double figures as the Howard University men's basketball team rolled to a 92-59 win over Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) clash at Memorial Hall.
The Bison improve to 17-10 (6-3 MEAC) on the season, but more importantly, moved into a three-way tie for first place with four games remaining on the regular schedule.
Taylor, who was named the MEAC Player of the Week, and Harris, the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, combined for 11-of-17 from the floor, 12-of-16 from the charity stripe and 10 rebounds. Much the same as it has been for most recent conference foes, containing them is a large task.
And if that was not enough, junior guard
Cam Gillus (Falls Church, Va.), the straw that stirs the Howard drink, continues to show why he is one the premier guards in the conference. The junior transfer from Lehigh scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out a game-high seven assists.
Senior guard
Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada), who has been in a slump of late after being named MEAC Player of the Week three weeks ago, got his mojo back and scored 11 points.
The wild card for the Howard arsenal of late has been sophomore forward
Travelle Bryson (Anderson, S.C.), who adds instant offense and excitement when he comes off the Bison bench, tallying 11 exciting points on 5-of-9 shooting in just 18 minutes of play.
We would be remiss if we did not mention the quiet contributions of junior guard
Alex Cotton (Carrollton, Texas). Known mostly for his long-range shooting, the junior transfer from North Texas State is beginning to showcase his all-around skills. He just missed being a sixth Bison to reach double figures with nine points. He also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded a season-high three steals.
The Bison, who have won six-of-their-last-seven contests, have been consistent with the formula. Defensively, held the hosts to 38-percent shooting from the field, outrebounded them, 38-21, collected a 42-18 deficit in the paint and accepted 23 points off Delaware State turnovers.
Offensively, Howard shot 59-percent from the floor, 82-percent from the free throw line and 18 assists on 31 made field goals.
NEXT UP: Howard seeks to continue its current streak when it hosts North Carolina Central Saturday (Feb. 21) at noon inside Burr Gymnasium.
