LEXINGTON, Va. (September 20, 2025) – Howard University men's soccer team grabbed its first win of the season, defeating VMI on the road, 1-0, in Lexington, Va.
Despite being outshot, 15-12, redshirt freshman
Naim Robinson (Detroit) scored at the 24-minute mark. The Detroit product led HU with three shots.
From there, junior goalie
Ireal Wyze-Daly (Ontario, Canada) and the backline kept VMI off the board. The Canadian finished with a match-leading five saves.
For VMI (1-5-3), 11 Keydets recorded a shot in the loss. Zach Murphy notched three saves in a losing effort.
The physical rivalry saw 28 fouls and five yellow cards.
Howard continues its road stretch Tuesday (Sept. 23) with a primetime matchup against #19 Duke at 7 p.m., in Durham, N.C., streaming live on ACCNX.
