MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD
Howard (1-2) enters Thursday's contest looking to bounce back after outshooting Alabama A&M, 16-11, but failing to convert opportunities.
Nine different Bison took a shot in the match, led by
Samantha James (Herndon, Va.) and
Leah Williams (Ellicott City, Md.) with three attempts each.
Defensively, reigning NEC Goalkeeper of the Year
Trinity Knox (Atlanta) posted seven saves in 90 minutes and remains a key anchor for HU.
AMERICAN
American comes into the matchup after earning a 1-1 draw against VCU at Reeves Field. An early goal from graduate student Jennifer McGuire gave the Eagles the advantage, but despite seven saves in net, American could not hold off VCU's late push.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Aug. 24, Howard suffered a 1-0 defeat at Alabama A&M. A 16th-minute goal from Danija Walker proved to be the difference while AAMU goalkeeper Adriana Durango tallied eight saves to deny the Bison's scoring efforts.
