NORFOLK, Va. (May 16, 2025) – Howard University men's track & field squad moved up two spots after Day Two of the MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Outdoor Championships, held at Dick Price Stadium in Norfolk, Va., hosted by Norfolk State University (NSU).
Currently, the Bison have scored 29 points through eight events and sit in fifth place.
On Day Two, senior
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) led the way, winning the long jump at 7.84 meters (25'8.75"). Fellow classmate
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) also took part in the event, earning bronze (7.57 meters).
Other notable performances in the field included rookies
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Benjamin Hilliard (Indianapolis) combining for seven points after placing fourth (45.78 meters) and seventh (44.61 meters), respectively, in the hammer throw.
On the track, several Bison qualified for Championship Saturday.
Graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) and newcomer
Justin Watterson (Las Vegas) each made the 110-meter hurdles final with an AQ time of 13.87 and 14.17, respectively. Saturday's race is scheduled for 1:50 p.m.
Graduates
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) and
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) secured spots in the 100-meter dash final, producing non automatic qualifying marks of 10.29 and 10.47, respectively. Saturday's race starts at 2:25 p.m.
Freshman
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) earned a slot in the 400-meter dash after running a non-AQ time of 47.57.
NSU leads the way with 84 points, followed by North Carolina Central (62 points) with one day left.
Championship Saturday kicks off at 10 a.m., with the field events. Saturday's (May 17) action will be streamed on ESPN+, starting at 1 p.m.
