HOUSTON (April 2, 2025) – For the second straight year, the Howard University women's golf team won the National Collegiate Golf Championship. The two-day (April 1-2), 54-hole event took place at the Golf Club at Cinco Ranch (par-71, 6,992 yards) in Houston.
Collectively, the Bison shot 25-over par (877) with golfers finishing in the top 10.
Rookie
Alaythia Hinds won her first collegiate tournament after firing 4-over par (217) during the 54-hole event.
Three-time All-NEC selection
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) placed runner-up, shooting one stroke behind Hinds (218, +5).
Sophomore
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) earned sixth overall, recording 10-over par (223), while Texas native junior
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) took seventh (224, +11).
With the victory, HU has won four tournaments this year, dating back to the fall season.
Alabama State secured second place after finishing 30 strokes behind HU (907, +55).
HU is set to return to the DMV to compete in the Terps Invitational, presented by the University of Maryland in College Park, Md. (April 6-7).
