WASHINGTON (April 19, 2025) – Howard University men's tennis team closed out the regular season on a high note, earning its first MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) win of the season versus rival Coppin State (CSU) on Senior Day.
With the victory, HU snapped a two-match slide before the conference tournament.

Zach Tobias recognized two Bison for their hard work and dedication to the program:
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) and
Daniel Dunac (Washington).
HU took the early 1-0 match lead into singles play, winning all three doubles contests.
Dawson and second-year Bison
Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) served as the squad's top doubles team, edging out CSU's Liam Murtaugh and Harsh Kheterpal, 7-6 [7-4].
Graduate
Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) and sophomore
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) outlasted the Eagles' Dentry Mortimer and Tinashe Whata in the No. 3 slot, 7-5.
Dunac and newcomer
Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) cruised past Coppin State's Aidan Thomas-Cogar and Rishi Jalota, 6-1.
In singles competition, the Bison won all six doubles matches in straight sets.
Howard (6-13, 2-4 MEAC) is set to compete in the 2025 MEAC Championships (April 24-26) in Cary, N.C.
