DOVER, Del. (April 15, 2025) – After more than a two-week hiatus, the Howard University women's tennis team returned to action with a big road win at Delaware State (DSU), 7-0.
With the victory, HU moved to .500 in league play (2-2) and overall (7-7).
Howard took the early match lead, 1-0, winning all three doubles matches.
Senior
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and sophomore
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) served as the club's top doubles team, knocking off DSU's Kit Yi Kaye Au-Yeung and Lucia Casas Blas, 6-4.
Senior
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and second-year Bison
Ava Chambers (Wellington, Fla.) took down Delaware State's Victoria Linkovski and Brooklyn Bowen in the No. 2 doubles spot.
Junior
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) and sophomore
Dana Hall (Miami) completed the doubles sweep with a 6-2 victory over the Lady Hornets' Camilla Mitolo and Eva Golembiovski.
In singles play, Pegram and Grayson each won their respective matches in three sets.
Chambers, Jean, Stibbins and senior
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) won their respective singles matches in straight sets.
Howard has a quick turnaround, battling rival Morgan State in Baltimore Wednesday (April 16). Match time is set for 2 p.m.
