DURHAM, N.C. (April 12, 2025) – Howard University track & field program took part in the Duke Invitational (April 10-12), hosted by the Blue Devils, where several Bison found success in Durham.
On the track, graduate
Ariana Smith (Pennsville, N.J.) and
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) competed in the 400-meter hurdles where they finished second (57.14) and sixth (58.09), respectively. Both Bison also took part in the short hurdles with Woodruff and Smith earning seventh (13.88) and eighth (14.51), respectively.
Senior
Camille Egbula (Simpsonville, S.C.) and rookie
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) participated in the 800-meter run, placing second (2:06.60) and fifth (2:07.63), respectively.
In the women's 100-meter dash, graduates
Kailei Collins (Houston) and
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom), senior
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) and junior
Kiya Lawson (Montclair, N.J.) each placed in the top 8, finishing third (11.52), fourth (11.63), sixth (11.85) and seventh (11.93), respectively.
On the men's side, graduate
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) claimed fourth in the 100-meter dash (10.54) while fellow classmate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.) competed in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 13.98 (third) and 52.30 (sixth), respectively.
In the men's field events, senior
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) won silver in the long jump (7.45 meters) while fellow classmate
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) took sixth in the triple jump (14.84 meters).
For the women, junior
Jazmyn Wajd (Tampa, Fla.) earned fifth in the triple jump (12.29 meters) while fellow classmate
Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) grabbed sixth in the shot put (13.51 meters).
The Bison will travel further south to the University of Florida for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, hosted by the Gators (April 18-19). This will be the program's second stint in Florida this outdoor season.
