WASHINGTON (March 30, 2025) – Howard University men's tennis team wrapped up the weekend with a 6-1 loss to North Carolina Central (NCCU) at The Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus in D.C.
D.C. native
Daniel Dunac earned the lone singles win, taking down NCCU's Leo Fortier in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-7]).
Second-year Bison
Michael Major, Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) served as the No. 1 singles player where he came up short to the Eagles' Hugo Hidalgo in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 3-6).
NCCU (12-4, 4-0 MEAC) won the other four singles matches in straight sets.
North Carolina Central took the early 1-0 match lead into singles competition after winning all three doubles contests.
HU (4-11, 0-3 MEAC) steps out of league play for a pair of nonconference matchups. On April 4, Howard goes to George Mason. First-serve at 2 p.m. The next day (April 5), the Bison square off against Hampton.
