COLLEGE PARK, Md. (March 29, 2025) – Howard University men's tennis team fell to reigning MEAC (Mid-Easten Athletic Conference) Champions South Carolina State (SCSU), 6-1, at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Md.
Second-year Bison
Kendrick Lash (Winston-Salem, N.C.) registered the lone point for HU in singles competition, winning the hard-fought three-set match over SCSU's Julius Augunas (3-6, 6-4, 7-6 [7-2]).
Seniors
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ohio) and
Daniel Dunac (Washington) suffered heartbreaking three-set losses on the night.
SCSU (9-3, 2-0 MEAC) won the other two singles matches in straight sets.
South Carolina State won all three doubles matches, but not without a fight.
Sunday (March 30), Howard (4-10, 0-2 MEAC) closes out the MEAC Round Up with North Carolina Central. Match time is set for 9 a.m., at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus in D.C.
