WASHINGTON (March 22, 2025) – Howard University women's tennis team won its fifth match of the season, taking down Wagner College (WC), 4-1, at the Banneker Recreation Center in D.C.
With the victory, HU moved back to .500 (5-5) on the season.
Howard edged out the Seahawks in doubles competition, winning two bouts to take a 1-0 match lead.

Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) cruised past WC's Liepa Sataite and Claudia Lindsey, 6-1.
Senior
Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and sophomore
Ava Chambers (Wellington, Fla.) held off the Seahawks' Victoria Madil and Dariana Vera, 6-4.
In singles play, Pegram and Grayson won their respective matches in straight sets. Chambers also won in consecutive sets to clinch the match win over Vera (6-0, 6-1).

Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) each held a 1-0 singles match lead in the second frame before both contests were denoted unfinished.
On March 28-30, Howard hosts the 2025 MEAC Round Up in D.C. HU is set to play South Carolina State (March 28), North Carolina Central (March 29) and Norfolk State (March 30) at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's (WTEF) East Capitol Campus.
