WASHINGTON (March 22, 2025) – Howard University men's tennis team returned to The District Saturday afternoon, blanking Wagner College (WC), 4-0, at the Banneker Recreation Center.
HU dominated from the first serve, winning a pair of double matches to take a 1-0 match lead into singles play.

Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) took down WC's Eddie Schmidt and Pablo Rodriguez Gonzalez, 6-1.

Hassimiyou Dieng (Dakar, Senegal) and second-year Bison
Mitchell Yon (Queens, N.Y.) defeated the Seahawks' Damian Janiszewski and Antoine Nivault, 6-4.

Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) and sophomore
Michael Major, Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) held a 5-4 edge before ending the contest unfinished.
Dawson, Major and Nwokedi each won their respective singles matches in straight sets.
Dieng held a 4-3 lead in the first set before the contest was denoted unfinished.
Howard (4-7) has a quick turnaround, traveling to Longwood, Va., to face the Longwood Lancers. First-serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
