NORFOLK, Va. (March 12, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its men's tennis weekly honors where Howard University swept the awards. The announcement came Wednesday.

Michael Major Jr (Nassau, Bahamas) won MEAC Player of the Week while newcomer
Kaosie Nwokedi (Charlotte, N.C.) took home Rookie of the Week.
Major Jr won both his singles and doubles matches against North Carolina A&T State (March 4). In singles competition, he defeated Ian Pedersen in straight sets (6-4, 6-2) and partnered with senior
Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) to earn a 6-1 victory in doubles.
Nwokedi also went 2-0 against the Aggies. He knocked off Lucas Coupu-Moison in straight sets (6-1, 7-5) and then teamed up with senior
Daniel Dunac (Washington) to win, 7-5, in doubles play.
Friday (March 14), HU returns to The District to face Hartford C.C. Match time is slated for 2:30 p.m., at the Banneker Recreation Center in D.C.
