COLLEGE PARK, Md. (February 8, 2025) – Howard University women's tennis team fell on the road at nearby Maryland (UMD), 7-0, in College Park, Md.
UMD took an early match lead, winning a pair of doubles contests.

Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and second-year Bison
Ava Chambers (Wellington, Fla.) held a 5-4 advantage late in their match against Maryland's Oliwia Orlinkska and Tamari Gagoshidze but was unfinished.
Senior
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and sophomore
Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) came up short versus UMD's Aida Elssa and Katherine Hung, 7-5.
In singles play, junior
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) dropped a hard-fought match to Elssa in straight sets (1-6, 6-7[5-7]).
Maryland won the other six singles contests in straight sets.
On Feb. 14, the Bison women battle Villanova on Valentine's Day. The following day (Feb. 15), both clubs square off against crosstown rival UDC at the WTEF East Capitol Campus. Both days start at 12:30 p.m.
