WASHINGTON (February 14, 2025) – Howard University women's tennis team secured its first win of the season, taking down the Villanova Wildcats, 4-2, at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's (WTEF) East Capitol Campus in southeast D.C.
HU (1-3) grabbed the upper hand early, winning a pair of doubles matches.

Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year sophomore
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) represented Bison Nation in the No. 1 spot, defeating the Wildcats' Sophia Edwards and Lauren Monti, 6-1.

Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and second-year Bison
Ava Chambers (Wellington, Fla.) won a hard-fought victory over Villanova's Maggie Gehrig and Olivia Corcoran, 7-5.

Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) locked up the match win, earning singles victories in straight sets.
Both teams play the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Saturday (Feb. 15) at 5:45 p.m., at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro, Md.
