Bison acknowledged for their hard work and dedication out the pool

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. (February 5, 2025) – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) uncovered its Fall Scholar All-America Team where Howard University men's & women's programs were acknowledged for their academic excellence during the 2024 fall semester. The announcement came Monday (Feb. 3).

To qualify for this prestigious recognition, teams had to earn a minimum 3.0 grade point average (GPA) during the 2024 fall semester.

"I'm so proud of our program," said Howard Director of Swimming & Diving Nicholas Askew. "Our young men and women continue to display academic excellence inside the classroom while performing at a high level in the pool. They exemplify what it means to be a Howard University student-athlete."

In the spring semester, the men and women posted 3.07 and 3.62 GPAs, respectively.

Collectively, the CSCAA recognized 19,209 student-athletes based on their outstanding academic performances during the fall semester. The selection was made of 781 teams, including 654 squads with a 3.30 GPA or above, from 459 institutions throughout the country.

"The commitment to academic excellence demonstrated by these teams is truly admirable," CSCAA Executive Director Samantha Barany. "It is inspiring to see student-athletes excel both in the pool and in the classroom. The CSCAA takes great pride in honoring and celebrating their dedication and achievements."

On Feb. 19-22, Howard goes to Geneva, Ohio for the Northeast Conference Championships.
