WASHINGTON (February 21, 2025) – Howard University women's tennis team extend its win streak to three after blanking Mount St. Mary's (MSM), 4-0, at the WTEF (Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's) East Capitol Campus.
HU (3-3) opened the contest with a pair of victories in doubles competition.
Senior
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and reigning MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Year sophomore
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) served Bison Nation in the top spot, knocking off MSM's Bella Pescatore and Venus Tang, 6-3.
Senior
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.), reigning MEAC Player of the Week, and second-year Bison
Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) also won, defeating the Mount's Emma Kaden and Valentine Mudry, 6-0.
In singles play, Butcher, Jean and Pegram each won their respective matches in straight sets.
Howard faces the Loyola Greyhounds Wednesday (Feb. 26) at the WTEF East Capitol Campus.
