PHILADELPHIA (December 16, 2025) – Senior guard
Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada) scored a team-high 17 points and recorded his first career double-double to lead Bison in double figures as the Howard University men's basketball team (8-5) cruised to a 74-66 win over Drexel in a nonconference bout at Daskalaskis Athletic Center.
It was the fourth straight win for the streaking Bison and the first true road win of the season.
The 6-foot-6 Canadian is having his best season in a Bison uniform. His 11 first-half points gave the Bison a 36-25 lead at intermission. For the game, Okojie was 6-of-10 from the floor and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line. He also hit his only three pointer while grabbing a career-high 10 boards.
But he received plenty of help from teammate junior guard
Cam Gillus (Falls Church, Va.), who tallied 10 of his 16 points in the first period on 3-of-3 from the three-point line and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. For the contest, Gillus flirted with a double-double as he finished with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists. It marked the fifth time this season that he has recorded six assists.
Junior guard
Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) also played a key role in the team's balanced attack. The 6-foot-7 junior transfer from Morehouse College was playing in just his second game of the season after suffering a hand injury that kept him out of the first 11 games. He contributed to the team's success with 12 points, four rebounds and two blocks.
Graduate guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.), who came into the game leading the team in scoring (20.5 ppg), finished with 13 points and four rebounds, under his average but he did record two steals and a blocked shot.
Freshman center
Danas Kazakevicius (Vilnius, Lithuania), a two-time MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Rookie of the Week recipient, even got into the action with eight points and five boards.
The Bison had their best free throw shooting performance of the season, connecting on 23-of-25 for a sizzling 92-percent.
The Dragons (4-7) were led by Kevon Vanderhorst with a game-high 30 points. Garcia Adsten contributed 11 points off the bench in a losing effort.
