BALTIMORE (November 23, 2025) — Howard University women's swimming & diving team secured third place at the annual H2ounds Invite, hosted by Loyola (Md.) University, in Baltimore.
Senior
Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.), sophomore
Gabrielle Vickles (El Dorado, Trinidad & Tobago) and newcomers
Alyssa Napier (Wilmington, Del.) and
Zenya Posada (Norwalk, Conn.) capped off the night with a victory in the 400 Free Relay, clocking in at 3:24.15.
Napier, Nwaeze and juniors
Rhanishka Gibbs (Nassau, Bahamas) and
Chanice Posada (Houston) represented Bison Nation in the 400 Medley Relay, producing a 3:41.78 time.
Individually, Gibbs won the 100 Breast with a 1:02.91 mark. Rookie
Brooke Whitt (Chicago) also competed in the race, placing ninth overall (1:05.84).
Nwaeze, Napier and Vickles took part in the 100 Free where they finished first (50.31), third (50.99) and fifth (51.96), respectively.
C. Posada earned gold in the 100 Back with a 55.56 mark. Third-year Bison
Myeisha Sharrieff (Bermuda) also competed in the event, registering fourth place (56.34).
Other noteworthy performances in the pool included freshmen
Mia Patton (Nassau, Bahamas) and
Julianna Gibson (Elk Grove, Calif.) placing seventh (17:49.27) and eighth (17:52.28), respectively, in the 1650 Free.
On the board, junior
Jala Wilson (Richmond, Va.) scored 214.35 points in the 1-meter dive, which took sixth place.
Overall, HU tallied 1,115.50 points during the three-day span (Nov. 21-23).
Loyola won the 2025 H2ounds Invitational with 2,477 points, followed by Colgate (1,155 points).
On Dec. 5-6, HU returns to Baltimore for the JHU Invitational, hosted by Johns Hopskins University.
