Men’s Hoops Secures Comeback Win Over Purple Eagles

Bison combine balanced scoring and defense in victory over Niagara

DURHAM, N.C. (November 22, 2025) – Graduate guard Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) scored a team-high 20 points to lead four Bison in double figures to lead the Howard University men's basketball team to an 80-70 win over Niagara in The Brotherhood Run at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Harris connected on 6-of-12 from the field and his presence allowed his teammates to contribute to different areas.

Junior guard Cam Gillus (Falls Church, Va.) scored 12 points and had a game-high six assists. Then there was senior guard Ose Okojie (Brampton, Canada), who added 13 points and a career-high four assists.

The Bison trailed by 13 with a little under 12 minutes in the first half before they made their move. Using their defense and an effective fast break, Howard slowly whittled the lead, 37-29, at the half.

The Bison forced 22 turnovers and converted them into 31 points.

The second half charge was led by Travelle Bryson (15 points) and freshman reserve guard Jeremiah Johnson (5 points & career-high 7 steals), who has begun to play well of late.

The game was won in the second half when the Bison got 22 of their points from the charity stripe. Overall, Howard connected on 70 percent (30-of-43) for the game.

The Purple Eagles were led by Justin Hawkins, who led all scorers with 22 points and Trenton Walters and Josiah Sabini added 11 points and 10 points, respectively.
